More About Fethiye Gulet - Turkey
Fethiye is a traditional market town set around a beautiful natural
harbour. With private and public marinas, shipyards, and beautiful clear waters
it is a natural centre for visitors to Turkey to enjoy the ‘blue cruise’ on the
traditional gulet charter yachts. Gulets depart from here for yacht charters
around the stunning coastline with the most popular gulet cruise being around
the Gulf of Fethiye and into the Bay of Gocek with its famous twelve islands. A
family gulet holiday in these bays makes for an extremely relaxing way to spend
the week, touring the beautiful coves and islands swimming, sunbathing and
exploring.
The gulet holiday itinerary can be extended to around the rugged cape of
Fethiye peninsula to the famous Gemiler or St. Nicholas Island, or walk up to
the village of Kayakoy, or be run across to Ölüdeniz. Literally translated as 'dead sea', the
stunning Ölüdeniz lagoon is a protected area, ensuring that its natural beauty
is preserved, and only non-motorised watersports are allowed.A longer popular gulet charter route takes guests along the coast further
east past the magnificent long Patara beach to the charming mountainside
harbour of Kalkan and spectactular coves sheltered by cliffs, as at Kaputaş
beach, and to the laid back harbour town of Kaş.
Alternatively, gulet charters can cruise westwards at a leisurely pace to
Ekincik, where arrangements can be made for a riverboat to explore Dalyan river
and mud baths, or sail further to Marmaris and return.Fethiye is at a reasonable
distance for transfers from Dalaman airport which has both international and domestic terminals, and serves many airlines
and charters for the summer season, and for the greater part of the year.
